How Social Media Sparked Social Evolution in Korea
After six weeks of social media-fueled protests, South Korea’s president was impeached in March. The rallies that led to the ouster were organized all online, as Koreans grew distrustful of media ties to scandals. The country has long been the world’s most connected, but Koreans are for the first time taking advantage of their vast telecommunications infrastructure to combat misogyny, spark social evolution, organize and develop social spaces for critical thinking and effective engagement.
