Ellsworth Kelly and “Austin”
The celebrated American artist Ellsworth Kelly gifted his last work and only building to the Blanton Museum of Art. The institution worked closely with him to realize this chapel-like structure, which he titled “Austin.” The work has quickly become an iconic new monument for the city. Foster and Roberts will discuss the genesis and realization of the project and explore its place in art history and within Kelly’s larger body of work.
Carter E. Foster, Blanton Museum of Art, Deputy Director for Curatorial Affairs
