DJ Jigüe and El Menor at International Day Stage Austin Convention Center
Sent from an alternative future DJ Jigüe has arrived, and brought with him the language of tropical Afrofuturism. First known as an electronic artist who mixed elements of African, Caribbean and Cuban music, along with the popular slang and sounds of the neighborhood, he also founded Cuba's first independent urban music label and production house, Guámpara. His style has erased the contours of normality, connecting the inhabitants of the Earth. Pulling together Afro-Cuban and electronic rhythms sounds, he creates a vibrant confluence of spirit-affirming grooves, creating a culturally conscious concoction of Afro-futuristic waves.
