TITAN (Dj Set)
TITAN emerged from the ashes of industrial band Melamina Ponderosa in 1992, when Emilio Acevedo and Julián Lede first met. Jay de la Cueva (Molotov, Microchips, Fobia, Moderatto) joined the band soon after. TITAN's debut album, Terrodisco was released by BMG in 1995 and was followed up by the EP C'mon Feel the Noise. Beastie Boys’ label Grand Royal released two more EPs featuring 40 remixes of "Corazón" in 1999. In 2000, Virgin Records UK released the album Elevator worldwide. After an extended hiatus, in 2005 TITAN released the eponymous album,Titán on Mexican indie label Nuevos Ricos.
Pioneering Mexican electronica trio TITAN return with DAMA, their first new album in eleven years. The lead single, “Dama Fina(Fine Lady)”, is a chugging minimal groove highlighted by a lilting melody.
Fans have come to expect TITAN mixing wildly divergent styles and pushing boundaries, and their return is as eclectic and innovative as ever. Not only is DAMA produced by Nick Launay, (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Grinderman, Arcade Fire, INXS, David Byrne, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs), the album also features several collaborators, including icons Gary Numan, Egyptian Lover, and Siobhan from Bananarama.
