Emma Elisabeth
This performance is part of the showcase that starts on Friday, March 16at Esther's Follies
Sweden raised and Berlin based musician Emma Elisabeth's intimate jangle pop is filled with contrast. It's wild yet controlled, contemplative yet loud and elegantly messed up. "Somewhere between The Bangles, Patti Smith and Nots” - according to Cute and Dangerous Magazine. A soothing and piercing vocal floats above a sound inspired by country and blues rock, fuzzy desert sounds and analog synthesizers with a minimalistic touch. Her organic, classic approach to songwriting is manifested through heartfelt and flowing pop melodies. With a dose of 90's melancholia and 70's inspired harmonies she blends American influences with Swedish coast side and life in Berlin seamlessly; a world which remains the essence of her upcoming self produced debut full length album, all the while it goes darker and lighter at the same time. Her 6 track EP ”We Gotta Talk” was released in spring 2017, produced by Victor Van Vugt (Nick Cave, PJ Harvey). "Unfurling with a gentle jangle, the crisp, spring-fresh songwriting can't fail to get under your skin” Clash Magazine wrote. Live she's supported We Are Scientists and L.A. Witch among others.
