GIRL SKIN
GIRL SKIN are a Brooklyn based collective, led by singer/songwriter Sid Simons. Describing their music as ‘lemon pop’, they combine aspects of fragile folk and delicate art rock to create ethereal chamber pop songs that are unafraid to wear their vulnerable hearts on their sleeve. The songs are shaped by Sid’s experiences, taking in his journey from birth in Portland, OR, to his childhood in both Australia and then New York, teenage years in Shanghai, China and a rambling road trip he took around the U.S.A. instead of finishing High School.
The group expands and contracts as the music and projects take them but contributing musicians include Bailey Blu on drums/piano/vocals, Sophie Cozine on vocals, Woody on bass/banjo, Ruby Wang on violin and Henri Roque on guitar.
GIRL SKIN’s latest project is a collaboration with Sid’s lover and muse, Foster James.
