The Rubilators at Saxon Pub
Referring to themselves as a sub-super group, The Rubilators are an Austin Texas foursome possessing stratospheric musical aptitude cranking out songs crafted with mischievous lyrics and rocket powered melodies. Veteran lead singer, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist, Walter Clevenger, began his musical career in Orange County, California as bandleader of The Dairy Kings while running Brewery Records (music you can drink to). Upon moving to Austin, he joined forces with Jon Notarthomas, Lee Potter and Vic Gerard whose heavy combined pedigree consists of Ian McLagan’s Bump Band, The Derailers, Two Hoots and a Holler, Chaparral, Ron Flynt and the Blue Hearts, and Choctaw Wildfire. The double helix of the band contains DNA from a family tree that includes Rockpile, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Tom Petty, and NRBQ and work by other sound pioneers who share the Rubilators’ vision of sonic resonance. The sanctity of Rock ‘n’ Roll is being well guarded by the Rubilators,. As noted in a Facebook post recently by a fan “ These guys are good!...NRBQ Good!”
