East Nashville-based musician Aaron Lee Tasjan considers himself a songwriter first and foremost, writing his own off-kilter folk-rock songs since he picked up his first acoustic as a teen guitar prodigy. Songs from his debut solo EP, 2014’s Crooked River Burning, evoke great American storytellers (Prine/Petty), and are imbued with wry wit, a sharp tongue and a lot of heart. Tasjan’s self-released LP, In The Blazes, received accolades from American Songwriter, Rolling Stone, Nashville Scene and NPR and suggested Tasjan was an artist to keep an eye on. Tasjan delivered an inspired and confident set of songs on his 2016 New West Records debut, Silver Tears, landing on a number of best-of year-end lists including NPR Music's "Best 50 Albums of 2016," American Songwriter's "Top 50 Albums of 2016," and Glide Magazine's "20 Best Albums of 2016." In 2017, Tasjan received a nomination for Emerging Artist from the Americana Music Association US. He was also nominated by Americana Music Association UK for International Song of The Year and performed at both AMA awards shows in Nashville and London. ALT is currently recording new songs for an album to be released in 2018.
