Jonny 8 Track is the stage name of renowned UK musician Jonny Aitken. His 3rd album, “8 Hours Work, 8 Hours Sleep, 8 Hours For What We Will”, was released in 2016 on Austin Label Chicken Ranch records whom Jonny signed to in 2015 as their 1st UK signing.
With Chicken Ranch now re-issuing the rest of 8 Track's UK back Catalogue (including a re-recorded track with Producer and Austin legend Chris 'Frenchie' Smith) and funding a new record Co-Produced by long time Spiritualized Guitarist Tony 'Doggen' Foster, Jonny's exciting body of work as a singer-songwriter continues to grow.
This year sees a full band performance at Valhalla featuring local Austin Musicians James Mays (Mr & Mrs Mays) Samuel H Thompson (Sharks at the deep end/Nic Armstrong) Palli ‘Pal’ Palidino (For Her and the snow) in Line with Jonny’s desire to use ‘pickup’ bands in each city rather than touring with one band.
From 2013-2016 Jonny was behind the drum kit with Spiritualized, having previously recorded with them on 5th Studio Album 'Amazing Grace'. Jonny was also a member of indie band Nic Armstrong and The Thieves and has done session work with David Viner, Fabienne Del Sol, and Pete Molinari, among others
