Bifannah are the result of merging the rhythm of 60’s moody garage with the Tropicalist psychedelia in the XXI century. Comprised by Antía, Guille, Antón and Pablo, the band was formed at the end of 2015 and it’s currently based between London and Madrid.
Their first release, recorded in Terraforma Studios (O Hío, Galicia), was an EP steeped in the 60’s moody garage. Their sound, inspired by the Tropicalismo movement and with a distinct liking for fuzz and psychedelia, quickly started to gain attention. Already as part of The John Colby Sect, the band releases two videos – Pior and Skeletor – and spends most of 2016 touring through Spain and Portugal, visiting the first Barcelona Psych Nights and playing with Allah-Las in Madrid or Mystic Braves in Lisboa. In February of 2017 they recorded their first LP again in Terraforma Studios. Mixed by Jasper Geluk in Tone Boutique (Haarlem, Netherlands), who had previously worked with bands like Allah-las or Jacco Gardner, these ten songs show a brand new dimension of the band, an evolution of their sound. With “Maresia” Bifannah toured again playing at Monkey Week in Sevilla and ended the year as one of the coolest emerging bands of Spain.
