El Mató A Un Policia Motorizado
Argentinian alternative rock band El Mató a Un Policía Motorizado recently released their newest album, La Síntesis O’Konor, featuring their velvety first single, “El Tesoro.” La Síntesis O’Konor was named the #1 Spanish album by Rolling Stone Mexico and received much love from outlets around the world.
The five members of El Mató a Un Policía Motorizado are from La Plata, not far from Buenos Aires, in Argentina. The band’s music conjures melodic noise rock reminiscent of Pavement and Guided by Voices - but so much their own sound. The Argentine band’s critically-acclaimed U.S. debut, La Dinastía Scorpio, is full of intricately crafted melodies and profound-yet-simple lyrics that range from confrontational politics to the perils of love. The album was named one of Rolling Stone Mexico’s best albums of the year and also landed the band a Rolling Stone cover in Argentina. The album was followed up by the EP Violencia, a precursor to this latest full-length release La Síntesis O’Konor. El Mató have played in big festivals around the U.S. and Latin America including the LAMC, Supersonico, SXSW, Vive Latino, Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Porão do Rock in BrasiliaRio, and many others.
