Moodie Black

The “brilliant and formidable” (Noisey) Moodie Black will be releasing Lucas Acid, their first full-length in four years, in early 2018 on Fake Four, Inc.
Now well over a decade into a career of outsider art, noise rap pioneers Moodie Black have established themselves as an uncompromisingly original act with a penchant for ferocious live shows and a host of critically acclaimed releases to their name. Early iterations of their sound began taking shape in the vast deserts of Arizona before settling into the indie rap haven of Minneapolis, with a brief stop in Los Angeles along the way. Chris Martinez (aka Kdeath).
On Lucas Acid, K is coming to terms with life as a trans person of color in a country increasingly predisposed to pushing such individuals further towards the margins of its narrative. Backed by their own meticulous production, a cacophonous collage of shoegaze, molded distortion, sinister guitars, and industrial hip hop, Moodie Black speaks on identity, paranoia, love and its absence.
