Sea Moya is a new psychedelic-beat outfit, emerging from in between shipping containers of a german harbour. Creating a wild and diverse journey, Sea Moya is performing a collage of funk, afrobeat, krautrock and modern electronica. Passing their ideas through a chaotic system of wires, various instruments, effect pedals and analog recording gear into the computer, where it all gets mangled, sliced up and put back together again, it still sounds human, or at least something like that. Processed vocals, floating synth lines blend with real bass and drums in the same way Sea Moya’s diverse influences of modern artists like Sinkane and Toro Y Moi merge with the music of 70s idols like Can and William Onyeabor. Putting all of that together, they’re writing, recording and producing everything on their own.
After being nominated „New band of the week“ by The Guardian, Sea Moya released their second EP „The Baltic States EP“ in 2016, written, recorded and produced in a small, portable outdoor studio setup in the woods of the Baltic States.
Moving their center of life and music from Germany to Canada, Sea Moya is currently working on their debut album, which will be released in 2018.
