Born and raised Texans Mel, JayHawk, and Dorian make up the Dallas Rap collective The Outfit, TX.
Since its commencement, TOTX has been hard at work developing their specific brand of alternative, Southern rap music. The trio has released several notable, critically acclaimed projects. They have been lauded by the likes of The Fader, Noisey, Complex, SPIN, and numerous other leading publications. MTV Hive called them “The Best Rap Group You’re Not Talking About (Yet)”. Complex ranked their double-disc album, Cognac/Four Corner Room, as one of the top ten Houston Rap Mixtapes of 2013. HipHopDX bestowed their 2015 project, Down By The Trinity a 4/5 “X-rating.” The group’s rise continued in 2016, as their mixtape, Green Lights: Everything Goin’, ended up #16 on FACT Mag’s “50 Best Albums” List, and #4 on their Best Rap Albums List. Their 2017 album, Fuel City, made it to #21 on Uproxx’s Top Albums of 2017 List.
TOTX's live show reputation precedes itself. They’ve headlined sold-out shows in both Houston and Dallas, embarking on their first regional tour through 10 cities in the South in 2014, with Run The Jewels, and touring Texas in 2015, with Seshhollowaterboyz.
