Honouring that old school Motown sound and working it into something of their very own, The Teskey Brothers are an unexpected revelation from Melbourne Australia. In 2017, the band won hearts all over their homeland playing to packed venues and swooning festival crowds. This year upon the release of their debut album Half Mile Harvest, the band is bringing their infectious blues and soul music to North America.
The Teskey Brothers’ first single, Pain And Misery, is a heartfelt ballad featuring a beautifully restrained groove underneath lead singer Josh Teskey’s smoked honey vocals. It’s a song steeped in emotion and truth, something you wouldn’t expect from a band of twenty-somethings from the outskirts of Melbourne.
The Teskey Brothers will be appearing at a handful of events during SXSW followed by their own headline shows in LA, NYC and Boston as well as two nights opening for Los Lobos in California. The band will return to USA in July for a more extensive run to promote the release of the album.
