Deeper than the Dish: Ideology of a Movement

As the food industry expands and the spotlight turns to restaurants, chefs have an opportunity to share their vision for an every evolving industry. They are finding their cause and through cookbooks, social media, and the simple paper menu asking diners to look deeper at the food they consume.

Naomi Pomeroy, Chef/Owner of Beast and Top Chef Masters contestant, released ""Taste & Technique"" a cookbook to, ""... encourage you to get into the kitchen, take cooking seriously, and feel good about it.""

There are currently more than 50 million posts on Instagram with the hashtag #foodporn, and the phrase is tagged nearly every two seconds on Twitter. Michael Chernow, owner of Seamore's and co-founder of The Meatball Shop, explores this phenomenon in FYI’s new series “Food Porn™"".

In a gluten phobic society, Kevin Fink chose to open Emmer & Rye a seasonally focused restaurant where grains are king. Heritage grains are listed by breed on the menu, grains are milled fresh daily and they are being utilized beyond bread into things like Nukazuke beds and Kvass ferments.

Come and listen to these three chefs as they explore how they discovered their passion within the kitchen and found a vehicle to share it.
