More than other athletes, cyclists are particularly HUNGRY. When it comes to cuisine and food trends, we’re ravenous and trendsetting. And when it comes to achievement, we’re willing and enthusiastic about pushing our boundaries beyond.
But is there an underlying thread through all of this hunger?
How does what we fuel our bodies with as athletes sate our souls as human beings? Do “energy foods” truly fuel us - mind, body and soul? Do we subliminally connect the taste of success with flavors of comfort? Are we riding to eat, or riding because we love the feeling of being hungry? Is the fastest route to happiness a chocolate chip cookie and a bike ride? How does digging deep on our bikes help to feed that deeper “hunger” we have as human beings?
Hosted by Chef Lentine Alexis - former pro athlete and Culinary Director and Cookie Lady of Skratch Labs - presently deeply intertwined in the fueling and storytelling of athletes and what they eat, and SRAM Road Brand Manager Kate Powilson, this MeetUp will intertwine conversations, thoughts and perspectives about cycling + cuisine, but also about what drives (and comforts) us as athletes and individuals.
