Fear and Loathing on the Barbecue Trail

Mar 12, 2017

3:30pm – 4:30pm CT

How do you tell a global story through one food group? How do you shoot a documentary in a dozen countries with a crew of two? How do you smuggle 100 pounds of camera gear past Mexican customs? Matt & Rosie from the feature documentary Barbecue discuss how they negotiated geographical, diplomatic, technical and language barriers to connect with the story in locations as varied as the steppes of Mongolia and a refugee camp in Jordan, weaving a narrative that criss-crosses the globe. They also spill the beans on some of the great (and not so great) barbecue they experienced along the way...
