How to Be an Ally
This session requires RSVP, and access will only be available to badge types listed under “Primary Access.”
In this political climate of exclusion and dangerous rhetoric targeting ‘others,’ many people want to confront injustice and support marginalized communities but don’t know where to begin. Join us for a workshop where we’ll talk about what it means to be an ally, why allies are important, and effective strategies for allyship. We’ll examine our own experiences with systems of privilege and how we can move past the barriers created by our experiences with oppression to confront inequality, support marginalized communities and create safe spaces. You'll come away from this workshop with ideas and tools to help you build community and coalitions to work for inclusion, justice and social change.
