Presented by Opportunity Hub
It's no secret that nearly 80% of professional athletes go broke at the end of their on the field careers. This is attributed to several realities for most players including lack of exposure, lack of preparation for post-playing careers, ill-advised financial advice, support of a village and relationship issues. That said, professional athletes also yield amazing brands, reach, signing bonuses and salaries that can be leveraged to invest in technology funds and entrepreneurial ventures that they may want to continue working when their time on the field and court is concluded. We'll explore some current models of active and retired athletes that are investing in tech startups and beyond.
