NFL Unites: Player Protest and Beyond

Mar 11, 2017

3:30pm – 4:30pm CT

Colin Kaepernick sparked a national movement when he refused to stand for the playing of the national anthem in protest of what he deems are wrongdoings against African Americans and minorities in the United States. Other professional, high school and middle school athletes followed suit. Although it is Kaepernick and other players' rights to protest, many players, activists, social impact entrepreneurs and investors are asking, "What's next?" This panel will explore some definitive solutions to addressing the systemic community and economic issues often experiences by communities of color and poor Americans.
