Data First: Training Coders to Not Give Up

In the U.S. Tech industry, we have a big problem; An estimated 1M tech-related jobs will go unfilled by 2020. The largest portion of these jobs are software development roles. Writing code is difficult work and it requires a unique capacity to manage failure that many are incapable of. Furthermore, it can be difficult to transition to as a second career.
To overcome this obstacle, a data-first approach is best, with this approach the learner focuses on database procedures first. In this workshop we will, explore findings from top developers, share the process of using this approach successfully, and demonstrate strategies to reduce attrition in the field, or the “Give up Rate."
