The US is throwing away nearly 1/3 of our food supply. There are 49 million food insecure Americans—yet 40% of all food gets tossed--that's $162 billion/year. We’re so accustomed to throwing away what we don’t want and don't realize we are throwing away money, hurting the hungry, and killing the environment. Next time you dump leftovers in the trash—why don’t you just add a $10, $20, $50. The Good Housekeeping Institute has been working with leading organizations to champion this issue and create ways to change the future. What many don’t realize is that if we redistribute a mere 2% of food waste—we could end hunger & save the enviornment. This session explores key issues & offers solutions
