For years, non-profit newsrooms like ProPublica and the Texas Tribune have been filling essential journalism gaps as commercial business models for media have collapsed. Larger media organizations like the Guardian have long had philanthropy in their funding mix, and are now developing philanthropic and reader contribution funding models to substantially support core journalism. Join Guardian EVP for Philanthropic and Strategic Partnerships, Rachel White, alongside leading philanthropic funders and representatives from non-profit newsrooms to discuss how far media can take this idea.
