Sailor Poon
Sailor Poon was born as a sarcastic stab at the testosterone-fueled punk rock scene and the world as a whole. Called "the best thing to happen to Texas music since the meeting of Tommy Hall and Roky Erickson” by fellow garage-rocker King Khan, the loud, unapologetic pack of gals compliments their surf-influenced, psychedelic post-punk anthems with chaotic live performances, some notably featuring rollerskates, broken baby cribs, and weedwackers.
The Poons are fresh off their Northeast tour and recently appeared at the inaugural Sound on Sound Fest. Proceeds from their latest release, "Yeast Pigeon" out on Giveaway Records, benefited Planned Parenthood.
