Since its first live shows in 2012, Mundaka's music has been baptized as ‘dreamsurf’ more than once because their strange combination of elements including surf rock, dreampop, post rock, jangle pop and reggae. Its sound is characterized by The Police influenced hooks, jangly guitars a la The Smiths and ethereal landscapes reminiscent of bands such as Real Estate and Soda Stereo. Their debut album "Sonata tropical del Artico" was chosen by several media outlets and critics as one of the best peruvian and south american indie albums of 2016.
