The Shacks
Since the release of their first single, "Strange Boy," which they recorded with El Michels Affair, The Shacks have been compared to 90’s indie icons like Mazzy Star, Jesus and Mary Chain, and Broadcast. As good as those bands are, you wouldn’t find a single one of their records in Max Shrager and Shannon Wise's music collections. All these bands are drinking from the same well, just 20 years apart.
In their live act, The Shacks appear as a four-piece, performing their well-crafted, psychedelic songs with a raw, twangy edge. Bringing his years of experience backing soul legend Charles Bradley to the stage, guitarist Max Shrager anchors the rock solid, no frills band and provides the perfect bubbly, hazy foundation for Shannon Wise's mesmerizing vocals.
