Growing a Diverse Innovation Ecosystem
After a series of technology companies publicized employee demographic records, it became apparent that a lack of diversity in the tech industry persists. In terms of gender and ethnicity, women, African Americans, and Hispanics still make up only a small percentage of the workforce in technology, and ultimately the US innovation ecosystem. This panel of successful leaders will relay public and private sector perspectives and explore what's working and what's not in Washington and on the ground. They'll also discuss existing public sector efforts to improve diversity as well as ongoing efforts by entrepreneurs, educators, industry, and the policymakers who support them.
