Van Couvering’s first film as a producer, Lena Dunham’s TINY FURNITURE, won the SXSW Film Festival in 2010 as well as accolades from the Independent Spirit Awards, Gotham Awards, New York Film Critics Awards and more. She went on to produce NOBODY WALKS, DRINKING BUDDIES, DIGGING FOR FIRE, COP CAR and more. Other production credits include Whit Stillman’s DAMSELS IN DISTRESS, HAPPY CHRISTMAS, PAUL WILLIAMS: STILL ALIVE and the award-winning SXSW short film, THE APOCALYPSE. She is a contributing editor to Filmmaker Magazine, an adjunct professor at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, a Creative Producing Fellow of the Sundance Institute, and a nominee for the Independent Spirit Award for “Producer of the Year."

One of the co-founders of New York City based production company Animal Kingdom, Kaplan's credits include Destin Daniel Cretton's "Short Term 12" (executive producer, SXSW 2013), Joe Swanberg's "Drinking Buddies" (executive producer, SXSW 2013), Gillian Robespierre's "Obvious Child" (executive producer, Sundance 2014), David Robert Mitchell's "It Follows" (producer, Cannes 2014) and Ariel Kleinman's "Partisan" (executive producer, Sundance 2015).
