Creating Custom Songs for Film, TV, Trailers & Ads
Thursday, March 17
12:30PM - 1:30PM
Austin Convention Center

Time and again, the same question is asked at music supervisor panels, “How do I get my music to you?” The more important question, however, comes up far less frequently: “Is my music appropriate for the project?” All songs are not created equal; film, television, trailers and advertisements all have different creative requirements for songwriting and production. Depending on the media, a song may need to blend into the background, have a memorable chorus, or take the listener on a varied, but clear journey (or accomplish all three). This panel will cover how to evaluate if your music is “syncable” for various medias, and how to approach creating custom work for each, including creative and production needs, expectations and deadlines.

Her songs have been featured in a number of television shows, including "Reign," "The Fosters," "The Vineyard," "The Real L Word," "The Real World," and "Gallery Girls," and advertisement campaigns for brands like Nutella, Ikea, Cheerios, ModCloth, BirchBox, Pandora Jewelry, and many more.
