TARMAC is a Reggae band of international level with a conscious critical-reflective message, born in Colombia in 2005 influenced by Jamaican music and Rastafari culture. Its lyrics in Spanish, English, French and Patois surpass frontiers. On stage, its powerful explosive show of New Roots, Dancehall and Raggamuffin causes great joy and amazement.
Throughout years, it’s been positioned as one of the most representative national Reggae bands. It’s released 4 independent albums: INNA GHETTO in 2006, TARMAC in 2010, MIXTAPE SPECIAL EDITION in 2011, and REGGAE MUSIC EVERY TIME in 2014. This latter was co-produced in the main studios from Jamaica such as Tuff Gong International, Digital B Studio, Voiceful Records and Anchor Studio. It includes national and international collaborations with artists like Turbulence, Ricky Chaplin, Vysionaer, Alerta Kamarada, and others.

Tarmac won the Department French Song award in the “CHANTECLAIR” festival organized in 2006 by Alianza Francesa de Medellín. As well, the band has partaken in important festivals around the country such as Rock al Parque 2013, International Festival Altavoz 2010 and 2012, Rototom Reggae Contest Latino 2013, Jamming Festival 2014 and more, leading in with great artists from all around the world like The Skatalites, Junior Kelly, Barrington Levy, Anthony B., Sizzla, Mr. Vegas y Turbulence straight from Jamaica; Alborosie from Italia, Morodo from Spain, Kafu Banton and Barbero 507 from Panamá, Alika and Zona Ganjah from Argentina; Alerta Kamarada, Ras Jahonnan, Providencia and De Bruces A Mi from Colombia, among others.
In 2010 TARMAC founded a non gouvernmental organization with socio-cultural purposes with the same band’s name. It was conformed by the association of different cultural, musical, audiovisual juvenile industries that generate tools and means for the aim to foster and transform the art and culture of the city through music and audiovisual production, events, communication and cultural management (check out: http://www.tarmacreggae.com/asociacion).
