Fans have been raising their glasses and kicking up heels to the infectious sounds of Shaggydog for well over a decade. With a style that blends a myriad of genres, including dancehall, reggae, ska, alternative pop and swing, their tunes are guaranteed to get the the dance floor thumping. Their fans the Doggies are passionate about the band and the music industry concurs - Shaggydog was awarded the 2014 Indonesian Music Award for the coveted ska/reggae/dub category. Currently recording their sixth album, they also produce and record new young independent artists through Doggyhouse Records. Supporting new talent is a way of giving back and remembering Shaggydog's musical roots that germinated on the streets of 'Sayidan' a riverside neighborhood where they grew up, and the title of one of their most popular songs. Socially responsible as ambassadors for Center for Orangutan Protection and Animal Friends Jogja's ‘Dogs are Not Food’ campaign, they are passionate about animal and environmental issues but most of all Shaggydog's mission is to make you dance!
