The Chamanas, is a band who is comprised by Amalia Mondragon (Vocal), Manuel Calderon (Bass), Hector Carreon (Guitars), Alejandro Bustillos (Drums), and Fernando Fonseca (Keys). This Fronterizo Indie pop fusion ensemble, utilizes a unique combination of various styles and genres ranging from traditional Mexican folklore, various types of Pop, Brazilian Bossa Nova, Indie, Danzon, among other obscure and synthetic sounds. The Chamanas, is able to create a musical connection between two countries. The border between El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua has birthed this band, who represents the culture of this metropolitan border and transmits it through their music.

The Chamanas has done well in its local venues and was able to open up for well renowned Major label bands such as, Zoe, Vetusta Morla, Enjambre, among others.
Presently, The Chamanas is well on its way towards larger audiences; being invited to large music festivals and important music conferences such as, SXSW in Austin, Vive Latino in Mexico City, and The Latin Alternative Music Conference in New York. Currently, the group is getting ready to embark on a Westcoast tour and later this year on an Eastcoast tour.
