Eve Monsees & The Exiles’ trashy garage, blues grooves and Texas roots come through
loud and clear. Playing a combination of original tunes and some obscure covers, the
band has carved out a niche in the Austin, TX scene. The 4 piece has just released their
3rd CD entitled “You Know She Did” which features guest appearances by Denny
Freeman, Glen Clark, Lewis Cowdrey & Nate Basinger.
Growing up along with fellow guitarist and neighbor Gary Clark Jr, both Monsees and
Clark cut their teeth playing Blues in downtown Austin. Together they played the
legendary Antone’s nightclub when they were both just 15 years old. After forming their
own bands they each branched out. In addition to the Exiles, Monsees also plays with the
Bluebonnets; an all female band with Kathy Valentine and Dominique Davalos. Along
with Mike Buck, Eve also co-owns Antone’s Record Shop.
