Musical enigma Sterling Fox is perhaps best known for not being known. As a behind the scenes songwriter he has written or produced hits for Lana Del Rey, Elle King, Adam Lambert, and Avicii and has worked with a myriad of pop stars from Madonna to Tove Lo and Britney Spears. As an artist, however, Sterling's solo work takes major turns for the bizarre. In what would best be described as a neon reality show jacuzzi filled with hyper aware Gen Y lyrics, his music often references the very people he works with. Fox cites Bowie and Father John Misty as major influences, and his songs often weave lowbrow narrative storytelling with surreal normcore power balladry. Fox released several songs in 2015 including the very glam "Freak Caroline" and the mod inspired duet "Angry Sons" with Samantha Ronson. This is Sterling Fox's first appearance at SXSW, and he will be performing songs from his upcoming album "Cheerleader Heaven".
