Madison, WI’s Bongzilla is notorious for two things: sludgy, doom-metal & chronic. The guys have been fervently displaying their enthusiasm for botany for nearly two decades with a discography that spans a double digit number of EPs, studio albums, live albums, and compilations. After a recent hiatus, the band has breathed new life into their decidedly pointed message and are giving a second wind to their touring schedule. Anything but a one-trick pony, Bongzilla offsets their relentless love of grass with a musical body of work that stands on its own merits both in breadth and depth. Their doom is the doomiest, their sludge the sludgiest, and their songwriting is refreshingly memorable and approachable for the genre in which they take part.
