Signed to Solid State Records, The Ongoing Concept is in the midst of their second record cycle. From their debut, Saloon, that charted highly on the Top New Artist and introduced the band to a national stage all the way to their second album which was handmade, "Handmade."
Saloon featured singles like Cover Girl that took the world by storm. A video that went viral from day one features the band playing to a classroom of elementary school kids and preaching creativity. They also flexed the creative muscle by filming a "house show-vibe" video for Class of Twenty Ten, a video for Failures and Fakes, a live video for Like Autumn, and an album themed video for "Saloon." All of these videos were directed and filmed by guitarist and founder of the band, Dawson Scholz. Throughout this album cycle, The Ongoing Concept played a multitude of festivals that at times exceeded 10,000+ in attendance. Supporting tours for legendary acts such as Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Hawthorne Heights, Oh, Sleeper and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.
Handmade was quite a transition. The concept of this album was to be built completely from scratch, and that's what the band came to accomplish. They built all of their instruments from trees they cut down in their backyards of Idaho, recorded, and mixed the album all themselves. All of this while filming a music video for their first single "Unwanted" and footage of the process of what it took to make this album. This content proved to be an incredible source of the bands success. Handmade charted in the Billboard Top 200 and the band landed a support spot for the legendary Norma Jean and their 10 year anniversary for "O God the Aftermath." Following this tour, the band is set to hit the road with A Lot Like Birds and perform at So What!? and SXSW in Texas this March.
