Houston, TX native raised back and forth from Houston and Mobile, Alabama. Jarmaine Pettway, better known as WhyJae, has created a broad audience through his indie hip-hop styled music. Not being able to pin point his sound to a accustomed Houston cultured sound, his music is created with a sense of style that is sonically different than anything heard in the area. Opening sold out shows for Dom Kennedy, Tory Lanez, A$AP Ferg, Joey Bada$$, and more. This has allowed WhyJae to develop a special stage presence and not to mention with the support of fans helping him muster up his debut mixtape "Timeless" in December of 2014. This led to the sellout of his first headlining show in Houston, TX at historic venue Warehouse Live. WhyJae has been able to develop a strong social media platform with his Soundcloud nearing 1 million plays. Now with the festival coming up WhyJae is planning to release his next highly anticipated project "30MLFTI" on February 10th.
