New York based performer Cristina Morrison, affectionately known as the Baroness of Jazz, releases her second album called BARONESA, under the New York boutique label, Jazzheads. This record is produced by composer & pianist, Misha Piatigorsky. Here she draws upon her life experiences – featuring songs in four different languages with a diverse mix of music styles stemming from jazz – tango, cha cha, drum & bass, bolero and even spoken word making this record an eclectic cross genre world jazz “tour de force”. The songs blend her skills as an actress and a singer and tell stories about her life, her friends, her feelings. Cristina recently had the honor of being a jury member at the Havana Film Festival in New York 2015 and a TED X Galapagos speaker. She’s deeply committed to contributing to the islands where she nurtures for creativity.
Here, Cristina supports an educational arts program, ARTEDUCARTE, in the public schools of Isabela. A portion of the proceeds from her records sales helps sustain the program yearly.
