After taking a break from fronting beloved rock band Zykos and touring with acts like Interpol, Cursive and TV on the Radio, Austin-based Michael Booher is back again with a new band under his own moniker. Booher has a new unreleased LP, which was recorded with producer Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Heartless Bastards, Patty Griffin). Booher’s 7-piece live rock n’ roll band has been rousing Austin audiences for the past year and even made a trip to NC’s Hopscotch Festival.

The ten loose, spirited rock songs on Funny Tears feature Booher’s trademark plaintive, powerfully brittle vocals and confessional lyrics; the collection is a welcome return to form. With a 2016 album release plan and upcoming tour announcements Booher is set to reclaim Zykos’ mantle of “next big thing” (Spin Magazine) to come out of Austin.
