Since forming in 2012 in Istanbul The Away Days have been creating a unique brand of anthemic dream-pop. Their “sublime shoegaze riffage” has been championed by the likes of the NME, The Guardian, and Spin, with Clash Magazine saying an early single “matches a blissful, soaring sonic sweep to songwriting with a real dynamism”. They have played with artists such as Savages, Portishead, Wild Beasts, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and Belle & Sebastian, as well as performing internationally at The Great Escape Festival and SXSW.

In their native Turkey they continue to establish the foundation for a truly independent music scene whilst internationally NPR, BBC 6 Music and the influential station KEXP keep spinning their songs “Your Colour” and “Sleep Well”. With “Less Is More” The Away Days bring to light the best elements of their early singles and forge a brilliant path forward to the debut album they’re currently recording.
