Brass Bed has recently put the finishing touches on their 4th LP, In the Yellow Leaf, and are proud to announce their new label partners – Modern Outsider out of Austin, Texas. Though it won’t see the light of day until Spring ’16, ModOut will release the first single off Yellow Leaf on October 30th!
The single’s A-side “I Am Just a Whisper” is easily the most frenetic, anxiety-inducing jangle thrasher BB’s ever produced. They tracked the rave-up with their old pal / engineer Danny Reisch (also an Austin product) and featured Ben “Benjo” Jones of Generationals and Youth Lagoon on guitar.
Then kick over to the B-side to hear their scuzzed out cover of Gene Thomas’s “Sometimes”, a swamp pop standard by way of Flamin’ Groovies that they tracked with Chris Woodhouse (Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall) in Sacramento, CA.
