Influenced by other hip hop and rap artist like Eminem, Kanye West, Chamilionare, and Tupac, Mitch James developed his own personal style of hip hop, writing only about true experiences. Mitch James started rapping at the age of 10, recording tracks in the living room at his best friends house. In high school, Mitch James and his friends started the group, Money Makin Click. They released 3 mixtapes recorded in their own studio. Mitch James was known for going out to different spots to promote his music, starting rap sessions, thus gaining him recognition on the scene.
In 2010, the group split up on good terms with each member pursuing their own goals. In 2011, at the advise of his inner circle of friends, Mitch James began his career as a solo artist. At the age of 21, Mitch James began gaining the attention of upcoming promoters. Busy with the struggles of everyday life, Mitch James knew he could not do everything alone.
Mitch James and Company was founded by Mitch James and his close inner circle. Now with a team behind him, Mitch James and Company took off quickly gaining Mitch James the opportunities to open up for other Texas artist such as Chamilionare, Lil Flip, Lil Keke, Kirko Bangz, Tre & Z-Ro, and other national acts like Twista, Yelawolf, and Slaughterhouse. On February 23, 2013, Mitch James released his first mixtape “Blunt Raps” presented by DJ Rapid Ric. With thousands of copies of his first mixtape, Mitch James traveled to different cities around Texas, performing different sets and promoting his music.
With his name buzzing throughout South Texas, he landed on stage with larger acts in the game like Ty Dolla $ign, Kevin Gates, Young Dro, Bun B, and 2 Chainz. He currently works along side "Scoremore Shows" as well as "Steak n Eggs Entertainment" opening up and performing in the top shows in San Antonio, Texas. In SXSW 2013, Mitch James won the Iron Mic Competition held at The Hudson.
With that same passion, Mitch James is still working hard promoting shows, producing more music, and establishing his name in the business. This year Mitch James plans on promoting his mixtape, videos and brand utilizing digital and other innovative ideas to boost the popularity of hip hop and the music scene in San Antonio, as well as the rest of Texas.
