In May 2009, KANJA earned a BA in Theater Arts from Hampton University. That same year he helped found Red Touch Entertainment, alongside Emukule Ekirapa, former mtv base africa vj in Kenya, Africa. A proceed of earnings will go to aid the HIV/AIDS campaign in East Africa. In October 2009, his infectious music and versatile performances led to his coveted win on BET’s 106 & Park Wild Out Wednesdays. In June 2010, he was invited back to BET for an encore performance in the all-star segment of 106 & Park.He also had a crowd pleasing performance in Howard Yardfest 2010 alongside Shaggy, Mr. Vegas, Wale, Slick Rick, Rick Ross
In 2011 he has participated in 2 shows of the reggae stars Mr. Vegas & Demarco reggae tour in St. louis, Mo and Nashville, Te. Most recently in 2012 in Nairobi, Kenya he opened up for Akon in concert on October 28th. In 2012 into 2013 Kanja moves to Kenya for a few months to build his connection with his fans and fan base in Kenya and the rest of Africa. Early 2013 he went to Atlanta to meet with Nicki Minaj's first signed artist and producer Parker Ighile who is from London with routes from Nigeria. While in Atlanta he had a chance to connect with international Nigeria superstar group P-square. Shortly after returning to Kenya Kanja was invited to Lagos, Nigeria for a series of radio interviews, and televised show Soundcity. The highlight of 2013 so far was that KANJA was selected to perform on the LIVE recorded show as an MTV BASE Africa All-Star representing Kenya in Nairobi, Kenya & also starred as a hero in the 2013 Coca-cola commercial "Africa Lets Go Crazy." On September 13, 2013 in Washington, D.C Kanja opened up for his good friends-Africa's biggest group P-square, and that same weekend on the 14th performed at the 2013 annual Nollywood & African Film Critics Awards (NAFCA 2013) at the Warner theater in Washington D.C, have undoubtedly the best performance of the night. In 2014 Kanja has gone on to London to do a media run with BBC Africa televison & BBC's radio 1xtra then continuing to do numerous shows in Kenya, Africa. This year he also recieved a placement as a singer/songwriter on the late great (Godfather of Go-go in D.C) Chuck Brown's final album "Beautiful Life" on the second single "Lighters" which the video will be dropping shortly. The album debuted at #10 on the R&B billboard charts.
