EE, the total art performance team, makes use of every element of visual and sound media without classifying different genres of culture, such as music, fine art, fashion and dance. The name of the team, EE, includes unlimited number of words that begin with the alphabet E, for example, ‘Eternity’, ‘Entertainment’, and ‘Everybody.’ It began to do everything at the same time, even though it’s not that huge as the image of its name indicates. EE was found in 2008, has done some activities of fine art exhibition, performances, and producing albums with its first exhibition of 'CURIOSITY KILLS', and has been making various attempts to create fun and enjoyable culture without classifying genres.
‘CURIOSITY KILLS’, EE’s first single album released in 2008, presents songs re-created the nostalgic early electronic dance music which caused a great sensation worldwide in the 1980s in EE’s unique style, and has become a hot issue in Korean electronic scene. Later, ‘Imperfect, I’mperfect’ was released as a regular album in 2009, and drew attention with Yun-joung Lee’s unique and attractive voice and with its styling which brought up the image of David Bowie in England. It received attention for broadcasting and club concerts not only in Korea but also overseas with its title song, ‘High Color in Memory’ as the most popular song. The second single album, ‘Pong Pong Pong’ was released in December of the same year. It is a sensitive electronic lounge track which expressed how snow is falling. The two members of EE shot and directed its music video, which showed EE’s aspect as a total art performance team.
In addition, EE appeared on the stage of Seoul World DJ Festival, of Global Gathering, etc. as one of Korea’s representative electronic teams. It’s a total art performance team representing Korea, which is working in various fields of art, including the opening performance in the Incheon International Digital Art Festival, and the temporary exhibition of the 13th Bucheon Fantastic Film Festival.
EE participated in the charity compilation album, ‘Peace’, as a Korean representative, which was produced by ‘Amnesty’, an international organization to promote human rights movement along with the artists representing 50 countries in the world, including ‘Ryuichi Sakamoto’, the world famous soundtrack composer and great New Age pianist and the French modern rock band, ‘Tahiti80.’
