Sweet Talk are an Austin based quartet fronted/founded by former Uptown Bums guitarist/vocalist Stephen Svacina, who a few of you might know from his additional guitar work alongside Mark Ryan in Denton, TX’s Mind Spiders. Combining the best parts of Cheap Trick, early UK power pop and the dual guitar work of Thin Lizzy, Sweet Talk love to get goddamn crazy. In 2013 they released their debut album "Pickup Lines" (12XU) and follow up EP "Flash of Light" 912XU) just a few months later. In between they did a few jaunts through the United States, played live on Terre T's Cherry Blossom Clinic on WFMU, and even appeared in a 12-year-old Haitian child's nightmare. The end of 2013 prompted a well deserved break for Sweet Talk (but not for dudes, with members spending the rest of the year touring with various other bands such OBN IIIs, Church Shoes, and Radioactivity)

The first part of 2014 saw the bands's original drummer Troy Tabner return to the fold and well as young blood Jordan Rivell stepping in to take over bass duties. After months of rehearsal, Sweet Talk began work on their mysterious, still untitled 2nd album due out 2015 on 12XU.
