Gonzalo Silva is known around the world as 'DJ Reck'. A DJ, remixer and producer hailing from Union City, New Jersey, he is a part of the famed Jersey-based group Brick Bandits Crew. He is also a co-founder of the popular local parties #THREAD, TroPicante, and Moombahton Maxxin -the first official Moombahton party in NYC. His musical library crosses many genres and styles, which has helped form a unique sound with fellow DJs and producers in the NYC/Tri-State underground scene. Gonzalo draws inspiration from his Latin heritage and the many multi-cultured communities he's grown up around, providing a style some have described as 'Urban World Music'. Armed with a huge library, a keen knowledge of music and the ability to read crowds, he always aims to please and rock out parties where ever he goes. His turntable and mixing skills have brought him success around the world, through mainstream outlets like MTV and Mad Decent along with popular blogs like Do Androids Dance and Generation Bass. He has played through New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Texas and beyond. With his 'Reck Tech', Gonzalo has worked with aspiring DJs on the craft, going over the basics and working with students to develop their skills and confidence across all platforms and approaches.
