Spring King is the brainchild of production virtuoso Tarek Musa who began this project by ripping out a disused bathroom in his house, setting up a drum kit and practice amp and put to task writing, recording and mixing a song each day in his ramshackle studio. Tarek was then joined by Peter Darlington, James Green and Andy Morton. Impressive and stylistically diverse tracks from these sessions followed and ‘Let’s Ride’ and ten-track demo ‘In All This Murk And Dirt’ emerged online creating an instant buzz, resulting in Spring King garnering attention from Transgressive / Paradyse Records who released their first single.

They were hand picked by Huw Stephens to play Latitude festival and following their performance at The Great Escape were crowned by the NME as one of the top ten new bands of 2014. Followed by invitations to play both Reeperbahn Festival and showcases at CMJ, including the official Rough Trade showcase.
Recent tracks ‘Better Man’ and ‘Can I?’ have received regular air play from Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq (Rebel Playlist), Fearne Cotton, Lauren Laverne, John Kennedy and have also been play-listed on Amazing Radio and XFM. Spring King released new EP, ‘Demons’ via Transgressive / Paradyse Records September 8th 2014 (8/10 NME) and are featured on the Rough Trade NYC compilation 80N7.
