Hailing from the South, popularly known as the “3rd Coast”, Dre Prince, born Andre Davis Jr, transforms real life occurrences to music we can all relate to with his BLCK KNG Movement. Raised by the sounds of OutKast, UGK, Kanye West and Tupac Shakur, it was inevitable for the oldest of 4 boys to follow in the footsteps of some of the most influential men in his life. First making his appearance on the scene with Rap/R&B group, “BYB”, after 2 years a decision was made to take a different route and build something completely his own. From there, he channeled his energy into perfecting his craft and in 2011 joined forces with Houston's’ DJ Mr. Rogers to debut his first solo project, “BLCK Diamond”. Almost immediately after the release, Dre Prince got to work on his sophomore album, “BLCK Dreams”, a 17 track project which include fan favorites, “Ass Parade” and “Smoke In My Car”. It was later that year he realized college wasn’t in the cards for his overall vision and parted ways with Louisiana’s Grambling State University where he was studying Business Marketing. Although the choice was made Faith first, the confirmation of his adjustment began to appear when the doors of opportunity in his hometown of Austin, TX flew open, one by one. Creating an impressive résumé for himself, Dre Prince has since then shared stages with names like: Kendrick Lamar, AbSoul, Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q, Chief Keef, Dom Kennedy and everyone’s favorite hazefilled entertainment, The Smokers Club Tour. In February he released his latest project entitled, “BLCK KNGDOM”, alongside a controversial “Coming To America” album cover that have had fans, old and new, excited for more ever since.
