Multimedia designer and emerging rapper, Deraj, signed to Reflection Music Group, joining their roster with Derek Minor, Canon, Chad Jones and Tony Tillman. The Orlando-based artist has been striving to push the bar of creativity with everything he puts his hands to, landing him features on Derek Minor’s ‘Minorville’, Canon’s ‘Mad Haven’ and Je’kob’s ‘Faith, Hope & Love’. Growing up in Maryland, Deraj always had an interest for art in general. He would draw at an early age and write raps in the footsteps of his oldest brother until it began to be his own passion. However, his journey with God didn’t begin until circumstances lead him to Virginia where he started attending a youth group regularly. The genuine love and embrace he experienced there compelled him to know Jesus more fully.
Some years later, Deraj left VA to pursue a Digital Arts & Design degree in Florida and continued to develop his love for music and art. In 2012, Deraj was hired by Reflection Music Group as a designer creating artwork for ‘Loose Canon‘, ‘The Tony Tillman EP,’ ‘Welcome to The Family’, ‘Mad Haven’, and ‘PSA V3′. Over time, the label discovered Deraj’s eclectic taste and unique musical approach. After building, Deraj decided to sign to RMG with confidence that “RMG would allow [me] to continue my expression as a creative both visually and sonically, in addition to helping me sharpen and grow in my artistry as a whole.”
If you were to ask Deraj to describe himself he would say, “I’m an average guy with an above average passion for visual arts, audio production & songwriting. I love being creative. I love to create things you can ‘see’ and ‘hear’. This is a part of who I am and shows in what I do.”
